Jenna Brings The British Invasion! Sept 30, 4PM-6PM PST

Hey Guys!
Bit late notice, but I'll be giving things a go tonight starting 4PM PST! I'll be playing things from current popular British bands, and past artists, as well as some unsigned artists' rough cuts, such as Carrie Fletcher and Frankie Sandford.

Any artists you want to hear in particular? Let me know! Comment on this post, or email me at jennakirsty@gmail.com, or AIM me at FairieJenna, and I'll see what I can do!

DJ JenniPowell Assaults Your Funnybone Wed. Oct. 3, 4 - 6 PM PST

Hello Breeniverse!

Next Wednesday, October 3, I'm going to do my second BreeFM "Themed Sets". This week's theme...COMEDY! When I'm not spinnin' the tunes for you lovely peeps, I work at the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theatre in Hollywood, CA which houses some of the very best comedy has to offer. And a lot of those funny people like to apply their skills to the musical arena. I'll be sharing some of my favorite tracks from performers like Hard 'N Phirm, Dragon Boy Suede, and The Glass Beef (can't get enough of those crazy kids!). Also tracks by Tenacious D, Weird Al Yankovic, Corn Mo, The Lonely Island...you know, the classics! And also some songs I just think are funny...whether the artists intended it or not.

WARNING: This show will NOT be rated for all audiences! So kiddies, put on your earmuffs!

I hope you'll all join me for some LOLs!!!

DJ QtheC Offers Random Fun & Music Fri Sept 28, 6 - 7 PM PST

BreeFM station manager MicFranXon was kind enough to invite me to try my hand as a DJ, and I think I have the setup working, so will try to run a little show Friday evening, staring at 6pm PST. I plan to play some good songs from relatively unknown bands including several from this years SXSW festival including Peter Adams And The Nocturnal Collective (rock), Alabama Thunderpussy (metal), Nicole Atkins & the Sea (alt country), and Buttercup (pop).

I'm also going to throw in a few funny sound clips of things I have found on YouTube, and may play a few rounds of "Name that Gunfire" if time allows.

Just an hour this first time out, and not much talking, mostly music or soundclips, so tune in, and be sure to join us in the #BreeFM chatroom on freenode. What I don't get to this time, we'll do another day.

Glenn Rubenstein to BreeFM

Starting Wednesday September 26th, Glenn Rubenstein comes aboard to DJ every Wednesday night at 8pm PST right here on BreeFM!

For those who don't know Glenn's background he had the unique experience of being an LG15 fan and going on to become a creative force behind LG15 as a writer, director and story editor for the series.

In addition he created the characters OpaPhid, Tachyon and Brother as part of his original series and alternate reality game OpAphid. More recently he is also responsible for RedEarth and LoFiSyndicate which currently appear along-side his other characters in collaboration with Jeromy Barber and his Maddison Atkins series.

I spoke to Glenn and he is excited to be aboard BreeFM and plans to talk about behind the scenes stuff including a long awaited update on RedEarth. He'll also be playing some really awesome music from his mash-ups and talk about why he chose the songs for them. Also he plans to field some questions from chat.

So tune in to BreeFM every Wednesday night at 8pm PST and get in our chat to talk to Glenn, enjoy the music, and hang.

Just another reason why we are "Community First".

Ladies Night! Wednesday Sept. 26th 4 - 6 PM PST

All the ladies in the house say hey! And guys, we love you too!

In celebration of our darlin' Bree, I'm going to be hosting a two-hour block of my favorite female artists including Sara Bareilles, Nellie McKay, and Alana Stone. I'm also going to try to get an advanced copy of the new CD from Charlyne Yi's (Knocked Up) two-person group (with Paul Rust), The Glass Beef. Yeah, not only is she hilarious, she's a rock-star! Ladies are awesome!

The fun starts next Wednesday Sept. 26th at 4 PM PST. And stick around afterwards for the simulcast of FOB Life!

Got requests? I love 'em! Just post in the comments section or shoot me an e-mail at jenni.powell@gmail.com and I'll do my best to track down the songs by next week.
